SOLAS-ICON

The aim of the upwelling cruise, ICON, is to determine the hydrodynamics of an upwelling plume off the NW African coast, in order to characterise its impact upon the physical, photochemical and microbiological processes contributing to ocean-atmosphere exchange of biogenic gases.

The SOLAS-ICON cruise is funded by the NERC grant NE/C517176/1 awarded to Dr C Robinson.

The cruise will sail out of Tenerife on 15 April 2009 and return to Tenerife on 27 May 2009.
